Mother-of-pearl has been a regal symbol of power, prosperity and fortune since ancient times. To unleash its lustre and beauty to the fullest, Sulwhasoo joined hands with renowned mother-of-pearl artists, Hyun Kyung Lee, Eun Kyoung Koo and Hye Min Lee creating blooming Prunus Mume in the snow with mother-of-pearl inlays. The highly complicated process requires the artists to employ superior techniques in polishing the thin material, engraving every fine line and applying the paints. Every factor was carefully considered to preserve the natural lustre of the precious element and capture the beauty of the flower through the three-dimensional and tactile finish.
A Timeless and Elegant Design
The pastel yellow case of the Powder Compact is adorned with finely textured petals made of mother-of-pearl and gold lacquer. Shimmering and vivid, the flowers with a harmonious gradient palette infuse the compact with elegant charm.
