The 6th “Sulwhasoo Hundreds of Families Quilt - Share the Wish for Warmth” Charity Campaign Aaron Kwok and Jimmy Choo Send Warm Blessings to AIDS-affected Orphans in China

HONG KONG (CHINA) | 2015-12-07

(7 December 2015, Hong Kong) Prestigious Korean skincare expert Sulwhasoo spreads the warmth of the “hundreds of families quilt” further with the sixth “Sulwhasoo Hundreds of Families Quilt – Share the Wish for Warmth” project. This year, eight Hong Kong and international celebrities, including Cathy Lee, the Goodwill Ambassador of the Chi Heng Foundation, Aaron Kwok, Cherie Chung, Kelly Chen, Carina Lau, Anita Yuen, William Chang and Jimmy Choo, joined this meaningful project to encourage people to extend a helping hand to those in need. With the proceeds raised online through Facebook earlier, Sulwhasoo also donated 100 quilts to the HKSKH Lady MacLehose Centre. To mark this special occasion, Asian superstar Aaron Kwok and internationally acclaimed designer Jimmy Choo were invited to join the charity event held at the HKSKH Lady MacLehose Centre today, calling for support for the underprivileged communities.

Celebrities Share Love and Care with Unique Hundreds of Families Quilt

Manifesting the loving spirit of the “hundreds of families quilt”, Sulwhasoo aptly named this year’s event “Sulwhasoo Hundreds of Families Quilt – Share the Wish for Warmth”, and invited like-minded celebrities to choose the most precious photos to design a special quilt that represents the power of love and spreads the beauty of kindness far and wide. Active in both the fashion world and the philanthropic field, Jimmy Choo, the founder and designer of the namesake footwear and accessories brand, highly appreciated Sulwhasoo’s commitment to charity and showed his support by creating an exclusive pair of shoes inspired by the dandelion, encouraging people to spread love and warmth around, and to spend time on caring for the others. Aaron and Jimmy then attached the fabrics printed with their treasured photos to the quilt, completing the one-of-a-kind “Sulwhasoo Hundreds of Families Quilt – Share the Wish for Warmth”. Other celebrities from Hong Kong and overseas, namely Cathy Lee, the Goodwill Ambassador of the Chi Heng Foundation, Cherie Chung, Kelly Chen, Carina Lau, Anita Yuen and William Chang also participate in this meaningful campaign to deliver the loving message of Sulwhasoo’s “Hundreds of Families Quilt”. Local fashion designer Bonita Cheung creates the signature “Hundreds of Families Quilt” by sewing photos and art pieces donated by the celebrities onto a piece of cotton cloth to symbolize a collage of support by the participating celebrities to the cause. This is the 6th “Sulwhasoo Hundreds of Families“ – a realization of the brand’s commitment to contribute to the society.

Passing on the Caring Spirit through Blanket Donation

Extending its warm reach even further, Sulwhasoo initiated a quilt donation activity and was pleased to see the earnest support by Aaron and Jimmy. Accompanied by the social workers, they visited the low-income families living in the subdivided flats in Kwai Chung to get a better understanding of their needs and the operation of the charity programme. They also presented new quilts to the families, warming their hearts with love and care. Aaron said, “I hope that the quilts will keep the elderly and children warm in the cold weather, and show them we do care. As the society needs more positive energy, I am happy to be part of this meaningful event and bring happiness to the others. I also want to encourage the children to embrace adversity with confidence and a positive mind.”

In addition, Sulwhasoo launched the Charity Special Kit in October to kick off the project. The entire sale of the Charity Kit introduced in October, comprised of 3 signature Sulwhasoo items in a pouch of blessing patchwork patterns, goes to Chi Heng Foundation to pay for education expenses of orphans affected by AIDS in China.
