Balance Your Life

HONG KONG (CHINA) | 2017-10-09

Living in a fast-paced city, many take on multiple roles and juggle a family and a career, resulting in work-life imbalance. It’s hard to enjoy a moment of respite from mounting workload and other problems in life, let alone work-life balance. Text ERIKA NG.

Balancing the body and the soul is a prerequisite for a colourful life. Korean are good at reinforcing the vital essence and strengthening the primordial qi to improve health. They frequent Hanjeungmak (Korean traditional sauna) and consume ginseng that will enhance circulation and help beautify the skin and contribute to a healthy body. ‘Balance’ is the key to lifestyle and skincare for women. On that note, our editor made a visit to Seoul with Sulwhasoo to learn the secret to a well-balanced life and the Korean beauty philosophy of ‘nurturing a healthy body for beautiful skin’.

To reflect on the often ignored value of Balance, Sulwhasoo partners with author Hwang Kyung Shin to create a Balance House Museum at Horim Art Center, where audience are guided through the significance of mind-body balance and find balance in their life through artworks. The exhibition also features a ‘Find Your Balance Diary’ zone, focusing on how women find their balance and beauty in life in a dairy revealing their daily life and skincare routine.

Find Your Mind-Body Balance

Radiant skin comes from mind-body balance. To achieve this, one need to find the balance in your heart. The skincare label took us to the Secret Garden of Changdeokgung Palace in Seoul for a traditional Korean tea culture workshop. Immersed in the otherworldly serene atmosphere amid the glitzy Seoul, media correspondents from different regions savoured the refreshing, sweet flavour of Korean green tea and black tea in a moment of silence and serenity. We then participated in an Aerial Yoga lesson to truly feel the importance to balance body, mind, and soul through different yoga poses.

The brand recreates the evolution of First Care Activating Serum over four generations since 1997 with vanities from different eras.

Celebrate First Care Activating Serum’s 20th anniversary, Sulwhasoo works with writer Hwang Kyung Shin to reimagine the often neglected value of Balance through art pieces and ‘Find Your Balance’ dairies.

Media correspondents from different regions gather at the Secret Garden of Changdeokgung Palace and learn to unwind through tea ceremony.

Sulwhasoo launches the First Care Activating Mask containing 1/3 of a bottle of First Care Activating Serum in one mask to moisturize dry, dull skin for a revitalized and glowing texture. ($400 / 5 pcs)

To mark the 20th years of First Care Activating Serum, Sulwhasoo presents the 120ml limited edition of its luxurious serum housed in a subtle white vessel with golden totem and the brand’s iconic plum blossom motif.

Yoga is another activity to balance the soul and the body by upside down poses and stretching.
